I know I’ve been away for a long time, …but for good reason. On Day 43 of my 44-day body building routine, my baby boy was born!! It’s taken me a little time to get back into the swing of things, but luckily I was able to snap some photos of me and to take my...
Food for Fitness

I’ve been keep very close tabs on all of my food intake since I started this Bruising to be Bruce super project. My friend even offered to create a cool infographic of the details when I finish! Cool, huh?? I may sound like a broken record when I tell you what I’ve been eating....
Finally Fit

Wow, I’m a bit behind on my postings. But, I’m happy to say that I have been continuing my workouts 2-3 times a week. Not as often or as much training as I would like – but still okay. As I go through these workouts I modify it slightly when I get stronger or when I...
New and Improved

I’m happy to report that my hip is doing much better. Feels as good as new. Well…almost. I’m still a bit cautious and don’t want to re-injure myself, so I’ve created a modified routine for myself which I have been doing 2 times per week for the last 2 weeks....
Rookie Mistake

After 5 months of marathon training and another month of detoxing and settling into a new routine, I was super excited to start weight lifting again. I had stopped weight training completely part way through the marathon training and have been looking forward to the day that I would regain...

My Measurements Exactly like Bruce Lee tracked his body measurements before-and-after, I’ll do the same. Check out the graphic here to see the measurements of my post-detox weight, my puny legs and skinny torso. I’ve always had trouble gaining muscle mass in my legs, particularly...
Detox Debrief

Now that it’s been a few days since I finished the detox, I wanted to share my overall thoughts about the program. Did I see benefits from the detox? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes,…but it depends. Would I personally do it again? Hmm…probably not. When I started...
Day 10: Sick
posted by super
Yesterday I thought I was just weak and tired because I haven’t eaten many meals in the last week. But I guess those symptoms really were just saying, “Ed, you’re about to get sick.” All of the handshaking and conversations at a conference 2 days ago probably exposed...
Day 9: Cold & I...

Today was not such a fun day. Even though it’s the first beautiful sunny and warm day in Hong Kong in several months, I’m weak, cold and irritable. I woke up this morning with a little sore throat, most likely because the last 2 days I’ve been out and about at an all day...
Incredible shrinking…

I feel like the incredible shrinking man (throwback to the 1957 movie)! Seriously, I do. For nearly 5 months I stopped lifting weights so that I can focus on marathon training. My muscles shrunk, but my heart got super strong. After I finished the marathon I took some time off and nearly 2 weeks ago I started a detox program. Think about that – if a dry spell from weight lifting wasn’t enough to lose weight, now I wasn’t eating. Of course I’m shrinking. But shrink no more…haha. In just a few days when I finish my detox program, I’m about to embark on anoter super program which I’ve been...

I have never appreciated food in my life as I have today. Being in this detox program and having been away from a proper breakfast and regular meals for one week now, I have been paying very close attention to the food that I put in my mouth. When I sit at a restaurant and eat a salad, I...
Day 7: Curiosity

Ever since I weighed myself last night I’ve been very curious about the effects that this detox will have on me. Will I lose more weight? What percentage of the weight loss is from fat loss or muscle loss? Is my liver really flushed of toxins? Are all of my bodily functions back to...

Waah,…that was the most uncomfortable night that I’ve had in a while. As I laid down the whole night, it felt like the oil was creeping back up my stomach into my esophagus and wanted to let me enjoy the taste of that creamy lemon mixture one more time. The worst part about it is...

Today is the day that I’ve been dreading in the detox program. Day 5 Liver Flush!! Let me put this into perspective – imagine skipping dinner, squeezing out the juice of 6 lemons, filling up a jug with the amount of olive oil that I usually use to cook my meals for two months and...
